Lost in the sauce of the New York Knicks making it to the second round and Jalen Brunson becoming a folk hero in the Big Apple is how good of a matchup the Pacers are for Donte DiVincenzo.

DDV averaged 20.3 field goal attempts in three games against Indiana during the regular season, and Chris Baker noted in our Monday best bets that he's banking on that to continue in Game 1:

“DiVincenzo averaged 24 points per game vs. Indiana during the regular season and actually had a 38-point explosion against the Pacers back in December.

“Tyrese Haliburton is one of the worst defenders in the NBA, and I expect Donte to exploit him off the dribble all series long.

"Donte should be a bit fresher than the rest of the Knick rotation, as his minutes actually trended downward throughout the 76er series until the final victory in Game 6. He averaged only 31 minutes per game in the 76er series but is entering this Pacers series off an elite 23/4/7 performance against Philly in Game 6.”

111, 104, 106. That was the New York Knicks' offensive output in three games at home in the first round against the Sixers.

This round, they’re hosting the Indiana Pacers, and Andrew O’Connor-Watts would rather bet on a Knicks offensive explosion at Madison Square Garden than bank on the game total:

“The Pacers offense is excellent, but when it’s not clicking, it’s really not clicking. That would be a result of the Knicks defense. Indiana didn’t break 95 points in its two losses to Milwaukee, and I’d worry about the Pacers keeping up their end of the 'over' bargain.

“The Knicks' rebounding and their ability to get easy buckets in transition because of their defense is key in this matchup. They don’t have much half-court offense outside of Jalen Brunson, so transition scoring and second-chance putbacks will be their best chance — and the Pacers are exploitable in both areas.”

Going into a new NBA Playoff series, it’s important to understand the matchups and history when combing the market for player props. This is where Joe Dellera’s superpower is unlocked with his “Player Props Forecast,” in which he details which players could see huge boosts on offense and which ones he’s avoiding.

The first player that stood out was Pacers guard Aaron Nesmith, and Dellera explains why he’s a player we need to be targeting in Game 1:

“As for Nesmith, his history against the Knicks speaks for itself. In three games, he has played at least 30 minutes in each and has gone 7-for-11, 3-for-6 and 3-for-7 from deep. Nesmith also played significant minutes during the Pacers' first-round series against Milwaukee.

"He's averaging 11 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0/6.5 (3PM/3PA) in 35 minutes per game this postseason. Nesmith is a solid defensive option as well, so he shouldn't get played off the court. I'm going to take him for Series 3s Leader as well”
