Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs is in the books and some second round matchups are already underway. One of those series' already underway is the matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns in which we saw a dominant 125-107 performance out of the Nuggets in Game 1. The Nuggets were able to get out to a lead early on and run that up to as high as 25-points.
The big storyline in Game 1 was the 3-point shooting out of both teams. The Suns struggled from beyond the arc connecting on only seven makes, while the Nuggets shot just above 43% from deep connecting on 16 made 3's. The Nuggets were led by Jamal Murray's 34-points and Nikola Jokic's 24 point 19 rebound performance.
Game 2 will once again be contested at Ball Arena as Denver looks to continue their success at home where they posted a 34-7 home record in the regular season, and a perfect 4-0 this postseason. Let's get into the same game parlay for Suns vs Nuggets Game 2.
NBA Same Game Parlay Odds & Pick
The Parlay: (+629)
- Denver Nuggets First Half Winner 3-Way (-170)
- Devin Booker Over 2.5 3-Pointers (+134)
- Jamal Murray Over 4.5 Rebounds (-115)
Denver Nuggets First Half Winner 3-Way
The Suns have not gotten out to fast starts all season especially away from home. Phoenix in the regular season averaged 55.9 first-half points on the road, and thus far in the postseason average only 54.5, with that number even lower at 51 away from home.
The Nuggets are almost exactly the opposite having gotten out to quick starts all season averaging 60.9 first half points on their home court. They are right around that number in the postseason at 58 first half overall and 58.8 on their home court.
Although it is chalky, the Nuggets look to be in a great spot to lead at halftime and continue their first half success.
Devin Booker Over 2.5 3-Pointers
Game 1 for the Suns saw a great shooting night out of Kevin Durant who connected on 12-of-19 field goals, and a good shooting night out of Devin Booker who went 10-of-19. What really stood out were the lack of 3-point shots and attempts from both superstars going a combined 1-for-4 from the floor from beyond the arc.
The lack of attempts is surprising especially from Booker given his attempts per game in the regular season and postseason as well, attempting six or more 3-point shots in four of six postseason games.
The Suns will need more offense if they want to upset the Nuggets on their home court, and that starts with D-Book. He's a career 35.6% shooter from deep and should absolutely see his attempt number way up this game.
Jamal Murray Over 4.5 Rebounds
Murray has played huge minutes this postseason along with big playoff numbers. He has totaled 34 and 35 points in the Nuggets last two postseason games. This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Not only are his shooting numbers great, so are the other categories as well. Focusing in on rebounds, he's logged above his season average of 4.0 in the rebounding category in four of six postseason games. He's put up big minutes and has been very active on both ends of the floor which usually leads to good results.
With the Suns in the regular season ranking in the top 10 in field goal attempts per game at 89.8, and their well documented offensive struggles this postseason especially away from home, there should be plenty of opportunities for Murray to go over his set boards total.
