The Oklahoma City Thunder return home after a split with the Dallas Mavericks, and now the series is tied 2-2. Based on early betting action, our Action PRO tools strongly suggest laying the points on the Thunder spread for Game 5:
“The positive aspects and strengths of Thunder -4 become evident when considering the current betting signals and data.
“One pivotal factor is the PRO Systems signal for OKC to cover, indicating a robust betting strategy backed by a 59% win rate and a 13% ROI that highlights 'NBA Playoffs: More Money on Favorites.'
"This betting model reflects a proven system where favored teams like the Thunder, marked by a -4 spread, often outperform expectations set by the public and oddsmakers alike when there's more money bet on the side than general tickets. Utilizing PRO, 50% of the money is backing Oklahoma City in contrast to 42% of the tickets.”
Scoring has been at a premium in this series with only the Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander providing consistent points.
If Mavs superstar Luka Doncic is limited by injuries and the defenses show up, we need to go back to the total and take the under, according to Joe Dellera:
“Even a hobbled Doncic is averaging 22 points, 10.8 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 2.3 steals in the first four games of this series, but his percentages are abysmal. Doncic has a .390/.310/.679 shooting splits and a 44.8% eFG%, which is a far cry from his 57.3% mark during the regular season.
"His decrease in efficiency is impacting the Mavericks' overall upside.
“Despite having some incredible offensive talents between these two squads, this is a series that has been dictated by defense and the adjustments these teams have made to limit the opposition's best player.
“The total has dropped each game of the series and now sits at 213.5 — a number these teams have cleared only once in this series. I'll grab the under in what should still be a defensive-minded affair.”

Kyrie Irving may have the best finishing ability around the rim of any player left in the NBA Playoffs, but his ability to pass the basketball has become underrated.
The Mavericks' All-Star has been racking up assists in this series against OKC, recording nine, seven and 11 in the last three games. So, Bryan Fonseca thinks we need to keep betting the over on his dimes:
“Kyrie Irving has cleared this in three straight games, and that follows a run of going over 5.5 assists in only two of his other seven playoff appearances.
“Irving has scored just nine points in two of his last three games, so Dallas will need his offensive pop again. But as a playmaker, he's put up 27 assists to seven turnovers in his last three, nearly a 4:1 ratio.”
