The Phoenix Suns host the Denver Nuggets and are looking for their seventh straight victory. The Suns have gotten a boost by the return of Kevin Durant as he's been key to their last four wins.
Despite taking control of the No. 1 seed in the West, the Nuggets have been struggling as of late. They are fresh off a 124-103 loss as double-digit road favorites to the Houston Rockets, and have lost three of their last four games overall.
Along with struggling to put up points, they have been dealing with injuries and have a number of players questionable for this matchup:
- Nikola Jokic (right calf tightness)
- Jamal Murray (right thumb sprain)
- Michael Porter Jr. (left heel)
- Aaron Gordon (right shoulder inflammation)
- Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (non-COVID illness)
- Zeke Nnaji (right knee sprain)
Needless to say, this is a big reason why the Suns are 10.5-point favorites.
NBA Same Game Parlay Odds & Pick
The Parlay: (+625)
- Deandre Ayton Over 10.5 Rebounds (+140)
- Kevin Durant 3+ Made 3-Point Shots (+215)
DeAndre Ayton Over 10.5 Rebounds (+140)
Despite leading the league in shooting percentage, the Nuggets have been struggling as of late, averaging only 43.6 percent from the floor over their last three games. Along with a poor shooting percentage, they have really scuffled putting up points and have been held to 105 points or fewer in three of their last four games overall.
Poor Nuggets shooting sets up Ayton to stuff the stat sheet — especially with some boards. He enters this contest averaging a double-double and has logged at least 10 boards in three straight contests.
Looking at his head-to-head vs. Denver, he logged 16 boards in 38 minutes on Christmas and most recently had 10 rebounds in 28 minutes on March 31. There's a lot of value with over 10.5 rebounds at +140.
Kevin Durant 3+ Made 3-Point Shots (+215)
Durant has shot the ball extremely well in the seven games he's suited up for the Suns. What's notable has been his perimeter shooting — he's logged at least two made 3-point shots in all seven contests.
Looking back further at Durant against the Nuggets, he's logged two or more 3-point shots in six straight head-to-heads as a Warrior, Net and a Sun. Despite not taking a huge volume of attempts from deep, he's been very accurate.
With the Nuggets potentially super shorthanded and the Suns clicking offensively, there should be a lot of open looks for Durant. With history on his side in terms of perimeter shooting, let's look into an alternate number to help spice up the potential return on this SGP.
