Sports writers at Action Network tend to have a talent for winning bets. Well, let’s take some of their +EV bets and put them in a same-game parlay.

Each day, we have best bets from our NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB analysts who cover sides, totals and niche markets like player prop bets. As recreational bettors, we all like to occasionally indulge in our degenerate side. So, when the time comes, let’s do it responsibly and create a fun, low-stakes same-game parlay.

For today’s same-game parlay, we’ll use Knicks vs. Pacers Game 6 on May 17, 2024.

The Knicks have a chance to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, but first have to knock off the Pacers tonight in Game 6.

Bryan Fonseca doesn’t expect tonight to be a blowout like Games 4 and 5:

“In a close-game situation, which I'm projecting, I think the Knicks' sheer effort and rebounding will keep them in the game. They have a collective rebound percentage of 54 to the Pacers 46, and have out-rebounded them in every game they've won this series.

“Late in games, they're able to dominate on the offensive glass, and the Pacers don't have the bodies to keep it from happening. They'd just need to make enough shots to neutralize, or hope that the Knicks miss against their subpar defense.”

Team Total Over 110.5

The Indiana Pacers run-and-gun offense has been electric all season, especially at home, where they went 27-13-1 to the over for their team total.

Our own Andrew O’Connor-Watts thinks we need to keep banking on the Pacers' offense in Game 6:

“Indiana was the best team in the league to the team total over during the regular season (49-32-2, 11.81% ROI), and even better at home (27-13-1, 24.66% ROI). In the playoffs, they’ve maintained that trend, going 4-1 to the over at home.

“Given the Pacers' offensive improvements at home and the Knicks' road struggles on defense, I’ll isolate those points to the home side and take the over for Indiana's team total. The home team has gone over in every game except for one this series: Game 3, when the Pacers won 111-106 in what was a pretty massive outlier.”

Sometimes, you need to bet on superstars to be superstars and nobody in the NBA playoffs is embodying that more than Knicks' guard Jalen Brunson.

After taking 35 shots in Game 5 and getting an extra day of rest, Joe Dellera thinks Brunson is set to have another huge game in Indiana:

“Jalen Brunson was the clear head of the snake and took an absurd 35 shots in Game 5. This was far more than any game this series. However, it aligns with his performances against the 76ers, where he crushed this line and had games with 34 and 32 FGAs.

“Brunson exceeded this 40.5 PA line in Games 1 and 5 and was on pace to clear this in Game 2, but for the injury. In Games 3 and 4, he was clearly a step slow and there was the blowout.

“Considering Brunson got an extra day of rest thanks to Caitlin Clark’s home debut on Thursday, I expect him to look fresh and spry while exceeding 40.5 PA.”

Disclaimer: Parlays have a significantly lower chance of winning comparative to betting each leg of the same-game parlay on its own. Those percentages only decrease with the more legs you add to the parlay. Keep your expectations in check and bet on these for recreation.
