New Orleans Pelicans vs. Utah Jazz
- Spread: Jazz -2.5

- Pelicans moneyline: +118
- Jazz moneyline: -138
It was rumored the NBA really wanted to get Zion Williamson into the season restart, and they're placing him front and center in the first game in months.
The Pelicans will have their work cut out for them, as they're currently 3.5 games back from the No. 8-seed, currently owned by the Memphis Grizzlies. What's more challenging: The Pels are tied with the Blazers and Kings.
The NBA did set things up so the No. 9-seed will have a fighting chance, though. There will be a play-in game if the No. 9-seed is within four games of the 8-seed after the final eight games of the "regular season."
At that point, they'll play up to three games. The No. 8-seed will have to win just once while the No. 9-seed will have to win twice in a row.
The Pels won't be able to afford to drop too many games in the restart, so they'll need to hit the ground running against a tough Jazz squad.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Los Angeles Clippers
- Spread: Clippers -1
- Over/under: Not posted yet
- Lakers moneyline: -102
- Clippers moneyline: -114
And of course, you can't have an opening night festivity without a battle for the L.A. … in Orlando.
We'll get to see the world's biggest stars in LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George immediately. The only question: How motivated will these teams be?
The Clippers have some work to do to solidify the No. 2 seed, although you have to wonder how worried they are about seeding. The team is that good; they believe they can beat anyone.
And it's unlikely they'll be able to catch the Lakers for the top spot; they're currently 5.5 games up on the Clippers.
Motivation will thus be a question for the Lakers, too, although this is just a unique situation. Players will likely want to get significant reps under their belt in these eight games before the playoffs.
