The ugly permeation of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus has ruined some of these Christmas Day games.
For this one, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will be forced to miss Saturday's game after being placed on the COVID-19 restricted list earlier this week.

This contest is another one on the Christmas Day slate that looked much better prior to the ugly permeation of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

While this game should've been an intriguing matchup between LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook versus Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving, the pandemic has reared its ugly head to take that away from us.

Three of those players will miss this contest. Durant is on the COVID-19 protocol list. Davis has a knee injury. And Irving is on the COVID-19 list, too, and hasn't played in a game all season due to his insistence on remaining unvaccinated.

Due to these developments, the public has been hammering the Lakers' spread.
