The Denver Nuggets (33-19) and Phoenix Suns (26-25) will meet in the NBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. ET from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The game will broadcast live on NBA League Pass.

The Nuggets are 4.5-point favorites over the Suns on the spread (Nuggets -4.5), with the over/under set at 237 total points. Denver is a -192 favorite to win outright, while Phoenix is +160 to pull off the upset.

Let's get to my Nuggets vs. Suns predictions and NBA picks for Saturday, February 8.

Quickslip

Nuggets vs. Suns Prediction, Picks

Spread

With the Suns' on a back-to-back and Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant out, plus a tricky injury report for Denver, I'll avoid the spread.

Moneyline

I think there's a little bit of value on Phoenix +150 to win outright.

Over/Under

The trends and matchup suggest an Under. However, I will still be backing the Suns to go Over their team total of 116.5

My Pick: Suns Team Total Over 116.5

Denver Nuggets vs. Phoenix Suns Preview, Best Bets

Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. are questionable due to injury, Aaron Gordon is probable, while Russell Westbrook and Peyton Watson are out. The Suns won't release their injury report until 4 p.m. ET so it's tough to know what to expect here.

Denver is 8-5 straight up and ATS this season on the road vs. teams over .500, including 5-2 SU and ATS as a favorite. The book on Denver is mostly that they are poor on the road vs. bad teams (2-9 ATS on the road vs. teams under .500) but better vs. good teams on the road than at home.

Where does Phoenix land on the good-bad scale? Who knows, given their wild underperformance of expectations and the drama at the trade deadline that yielded them no changes.

One thing is clear, they are undersized on the interior. Nic Richards is good on the offensive glass but isn't a defensive threat vs. post players. The Suns will have to send the house at Jokic which could work if he's without Murray and/or MPJ.

The Suns offense should score here; the Suns have the 9th-best offense against bottom-10 defenses like Denver's. Without Westbrook and Watson, the Nuggets are down two of their four best defenders.

The Suns' team total over feels like the best way to hit all factors. The Suns might be more competitive, and this goes over. The Suns can also go over in a Nuggets blowout. We'll focus on that as our best bet.

Best Bet: Suns Team Total Over 116.5 (-105)

Suns vs. Nuggets Parlay Picks

  • Nikola Jokic 25+ points
  • Suns Team Total Over 116.5
  • 1H total Over 121.5

Parlay Total: +218
