Nuggets vs. Trail Blazers Preview

In an exciting matchup tonight between the Nuggets and Blazers, we have two teams fighting for different things.

On one hand we have the Nuggets, who are playing for seeding and trying to secure home playoff games at this point in the season, while the young Blazers are fighting to get into the play-in tournament. With the opening spread at Denver +1.5, I would call this the marquee game on Friday night's slate.

This play focuses on two players. Deni Avdija and Aaron Gordon, both of which who have been playing extremely well in recent games.

Over his last 5 games, Deni has averaged 25.8 points, and 11.8 rebounds. He has been a pivotal role to the Blazers' recent success. His offensive efficiency this season is at a career high, while shooting 68.4% when he attacks the rim.

On the rebounding side of things, his last 5 games have been extremely promising. Also, this is an early look, but if Jeremi Grant is out (listed as GTD), Deni will continue to get ample opportunities at the rim.

On the other hand, Aaron Gordon has been playing extremely well across the Nuggets' last three games. Although a small sample size, he has averaged 27 points and 8 rebounds during that stretch. In a game where Nikola Jokic is currently trending towards being out, Aaron’s production should certainly rise.

Last but not least, Nuggets moneyline. Although Denver has been a little hit by the injury bug, the Nuggets are still the much better team here.

With Gordon, Michael Porter Jr, Jamal Murray and getting good minutes from Russell Westbrook, this team should be able to bounce back from their latest loss against the Lakers and get back on track.
