The Detroit Pistons are on the verge of being historically bad.
After losing to the Atlanta Hawks, the Pistons have now lost 24 straight games.
DraftKings has posted the odds on the next time the Pistons will win a game, and things aren't looking up.
Odds are according to DraftKings as of Tuesday afternoon.
The Pistons' win total has also taken a massive decline. Before the season, the wind total was at 27.5 at most sportsbooks. Now, DraftKings is offering a win total at an absurd total of 9.5.
The 9.5 win total is heavily juiced to the over. The over is -1600 and the under is +900 at DraftKings.
There has only been one team in the history of the NBA to finish the season with single-digit wins in an 82-game NBA season. The Philadelphia 76ers did it during the 1972-73 season.
Luckily for basketball fans from Michigan, the Pistons face a slew of bad or mediocre teams coming up. The Jazz coming up on Thursday is a very winnable game at home. Then, the Pistons play a home and home against the Nets, which are fringe playoff contenders through the first two months of the season If that doesn't cut it, the Pistons play the Jazz again right after the new year.
Detroit also has the best odds at -145 to finish with the worst regular season record. They're only rivaled by the Wizards and Spurs, which are both priced at +310.
For spread bettors, the Pistons haven't as bad as you might think. Detroit is 9-15-1 against the spread this season — but they're among the worst in the league. That means, while oddsmakers have tried their best at handicapping the NBA's worst team, the team still continually underperforms.
Detroit is second-worst in the NBA against the spread, ahead of just the Hawks, which are 6-20 thus far this season.
