Pistons vs. Hawks Player Props for Sunday, February 23
- Onyeka Okongwu Under 25.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists (-120)
- Cade Cunningham Over 9.5 Assists (-110)
Onyeka Okongwu had a nice run as Atlanta's only healthy center, but Clint Capela returned on Thursday. The pair were back to splitting the center minutes against Orlando.
Okongwu remained on the bigger side of the platoon (29 minutes), but his playing time upside is still capped.
Atlanta also has Georges Niang and Dominick Barlow on hand for small-ball center minutes. Those options might make more sense in this matchup, as Detroit uses 6'8" Isaiah Stewart as their backup center.
The Hawks could throw Okongwu and Capela at Jalen Duren, then go smaller against the Pistons' bench unit. There are multiple routes for Okongwu's minutes to land in the mid-20s instead of 30+.
Detroit is a difficult matchup, particularly for big men. They're holding opponents to the 5th-fewest points in the paint per game.
The Pistons allow the 3rd-fewest rebounds per game to centers, and they allow the 7th-fewest assists per game.
Pick: Onyeka Okongwu Under 25.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists (-120)
By Kyle Murray
This is a great spot for Cade Cunningham against the Hawks, a team that plays very fast, ranked 2nd in the NBA in pace.
They also allow the 6th-most assists per game to opposing players, and Cade projects for nearly 11 assists.
Cunningham has 38 total assists in just 3 games against the Hawks this year, having no fewer than 11 in any of those games.
I like him to have another strong showing in the assists department tonight.
Pick: Cade Cunningham Over 9.5 Assists (-110)
