Raptors vs. Suns Preview

By Stephen Nover

There are reasons why the Raptors have the third-best point spread mark in the NBA at 41-26-1 (61 percent). Toronto often is undervalued by the oddsmakers, the Raptors have good coaching and underrated team depth.

There are reasons why the Suns have the second-worst record in the NBA against the spread, with the opposite ATS record of Toronto at 26-41-1. They have bad chemistry, a disconnect with their head coach Mike Budenholzer and have injuries. Bradley Beal, the Suns' third-leading scorer, is out once again after suffering a hamstring injury in Phoenix's road loss to the Lakers last night.

The Suns are 6-15 in their last 21 games. Their roster plays better on paper than on the court. The Raptors are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games. When catching six or more points, they are 7-2 ATS the past nine times.

Since the All-Star break, the Raptors rank in the top-six defensively. They also defeated the Suns by a score of 127-109 at home when the teams last met last month. Take the points with Toronto.

Best Bet: Raptors +8.5 (-110)

Raptors vs. Suns Prediction

By Grant Neiffer

This line is far too low at most sportsbooks.

The matchup is average overall, with the Suns being a slightly below-average team at allowing 3-pointers and below average in pace.

The Raptors are actively trying to lose, so the chance of this being a blowout is higher than the 8.5-point spread would indicate, and if the game is close, it still wouldn't surprise me to see Quickley play less minutes than normal in the 4th quarter.

He's hit the under at this number in 5 of the last 8 games, and I project it near a 60% chance of hitting the under here.

Pick: Immanuel Quickley Under 2.5 Three-Pointers (-115)
