The Houston Rockets (37-23) and Indiana Pacers (34-25) will meet in the NBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. The game will broadcast live on NBA League Pass.

The Pacers are 4-point favorites over the Rockets on the spread (Pacers -4), with the over/under set at 232 total points. Indiana is a -155 favorite to win outright, while Houston is +130 to pull off the upset.

Let's get into my Rockets vs. Pacers predictions and NBA picks for Tuesday, March 4.

Rockets vs. Pacers Picks, Prediction

Spread

The spread for this game opened at 4 and has hovered around there throughout the day. However, there were moments where it dipped to 3.5 and 3 because of the Rockets' schedule and injury report.

This is the second day of a back-to-back for Houston. The Rockets played yesterday at home in a fast-paced, high-scoring contest against the Thunder and late scratched Amen Thompson and Alperen Sengun. With such key pieces still questionable, its hard to know which way this spread will go. I have stayed away here thus far.

Moneyline

The moneyline faces similar issues as the spread. With such uncertainty regarding who'll suit up, it's hard to try and get ahead of this line. The more actionable angle here is the total.

Over/Under

I love the over in this game!

232 is the best price available and I would scoop that up quickly at FanDuel. Regardless of who plays for Houston, the pace should be incredibly fast and with several opportunities created in transition.

We also know the Pacers may have the most fitting team name in the NBA, since they play incredibly fast. Tyrese Haliburton is playing the best basketball we have seen from him since the beginning of the 2024 campaign, so look for Haliburton and his teammates to keep that offensive output high tonight.

My Pick: Over 232

Rockets vs. Pacers Preview

Play the over! It opened at 228.5 at FanDuel and a 229 consensus at other books. With the line now all the way up to 232, I would play it smaller than normal because there is some lost value.

However, I still don't think this number has reached a resistance point and has some room to go up.

Rockets vs. Pacers Prediction

The over is a no brainer, even with the uncertainty surrounding who the Rockets will suit up. The number has taken three points of steam and moved from 229 to 232. If Thompson and Sengun are active, this could go another two points higher. Even if they are out, Jalen Green will lead the offense with either screens from Steven Adams or shooters around him with small-ball center Jabari Smith Jr. trying to increase the pace and space.

Best Bet: Over 232
