Rudy Gobert said he’d “bite the bullet” and “take the fine” after flashing a money sign at an official in the Timberwolves’ overtime loss Friday to the Cavaliers. On Sunday, he found out that bullet put a $100K dent in his wallet as the NBA levied a heavy fine against him.

Gobert was hit with his sixth foul late in regulation, and rubbed his fingers at referee Scott Foster, insinuating he was on the take for disqualifying him for the game. Foster didn’t see the gesture, but fellow official Natalie Sago did and whistled him for a technical foul. The Cavs tied the game on the ensuing free throw to help send the game to overtime.

Afterward, the veteran center didn’t hold back about how he felt gambling has greatly impacted the game.

"I'll bite the bullet again,” Gobert said. “I'll be the bad guy. I'll take the fine, but I think it's hurting our game. I know the betting and all that is becoming bigger and bigger, but it shouldn't feel that way."
