The 76ers are 5.5-point favorites over the Spurs on the spread (Sixers -5.5), with the over/under set at 217.5 total points. The 76ers are a -225 favorite to win outright, while the Spurs are +180 to pull off the upset.
Let's get into my Spurs vs. 76ers predictions and NBA picks for Sunday, December 23.

Spurs vs. 76ers Preview
The 76ers host the Spurs and Victor Wembanyama on Monday night. This game pits two of the game's best bigs against each other in Wemby and Joel Embiid for what should be a thrilling matchup.
The Sixers are as whole as they can possibly be at the moment with Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, and Embiid all expected to play tonight, and the Spurs will be able to play their traditional rotations as well.
Neither team has been good this season. The Sixers are 9-17 but have been decimated with injuries, and the Spurs are 15-13 but have poor underlying metrics.
The Sixers actually have a better Adjusted Net Rating (-1.7) than the Spurs (-2.7), despite their star players each missing significant portions of the season, per Dunks and Threes.
The biggest reason for the Sixers to have hope is their newfound health.
On the season, Philly has a -5.3 in point differential. However, when Maxey, George, and Embiid play, the team is +13 points per 100, per Cleaning the Glass.
While the sample size is fairly small, it does seem like this trio plays well together.
One matchup to watch is Joel Embiid vs. Victor Wembanyama. Joel always gets up for matchups where he can bring a level of physicality to the game, and as good as Victor is, Joel is one of the few players in the league who can still use his size against him.
In their one head-to-head matchup last season, Joel dropped 70 points with 18 rebounds and 5 assists.
Embiid is only averaging 22.3 points per game this season. However, his knee was still clearly an issue back in November, and since he returned in December, he is back to his dominant ways (aside from having his face broken), averaging nearly a point per minute.
Embiid has now had a few days off since his last game, and gets another day off after this game. I would take over 28.5 points.
Spurs vs. 76ers Prediction
The Sixers have struggled this season. However, I think they are the better team when healthy.
The Spurs are just 2-5 ATS as a road underdog this season, and even though Philly is 1-5 as a home favorite, much of that is due to their litany of injuries. Now healthy, I'll lay the points with Philly tonight.
For a same game parlay, I will take the Sixers moneyline, combined with Embiid 30+ points and Wemby 25+ points, a number he has hit in 52% of games overall, and he scored 33 in two games against Philly last season.
Best Bet: Sixers -5.5 (-110)
Same Game Parlay Picks
- 76ers Moneyline (-225)
- Joel Embiid 30+ Points (-105)
- Victor Wembanyama 25+ Points (+125)
