Spurs vs. Grizzlies Preview
I'm not a big gamelog guy, but I do like to look back at prior matchups in certain cases. Zach Edey is the type of player who is extremely sensitive to matchups, and we have a pair of recent examples against this Spurs team.
Memphis played the Spurs in a back-to-back in mid-January. Edey played 17 in the first matchup, posting 6 points and 5 rebounds.
In the second game, he played just 7 minutes, finishing with 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist.
Edey averages 20.6 minutes per game on the season. He's played as many as 28 recently, but has been Under 20 in three straight games.
San Antonio has generally been tough on interior, with Victor Wembanyama playing a big role there.
The Spurs are allowing the 8th-fewest points in the paint per game. They're holding centers to the 9th-fewest rebounds per game.
I'm expecting the minutes floor to be quite low for Edey here. Memphis has opted to go to Santi Aldama and Jake LaRavia in this spot recently.
Spurs vs. Grizzlies Prediction

The Grizzlies are playing great basketball and tough to match up against, especially when completely healthy. However, tonight the Grizzlies without a couple key players, but I don't think it will matter much in this contest.
Even without Morant, the Grizzlies bench is deep and players stepping up. The Grizzlies have the size to matchup against Wemby in the paint, and they are one of the best rebounding teams in the league.
Memphis has dominated both meetings so far this year 140-112 and 129-115, and I expect them to dominate this game as well.
The Grizzlies are 20-5 at home this year, and the highest scoring team in the NBA, averaging just over 123 per. Meanwhile, the Spurs have dropped six of their last eight overall, and it will be interesting to see how well De'Aaron Fox fits into this lineup.
Look for the Grizzlies to continue their dominance in this series and at home.
