Here's everything you need to know about Suns vs. Clippers on Thursday, October 31 — our expert prediction and betting picks for today's game.
The Suns will travel to LA to take on the Clippers in their second matchup of the season. Can Phoenix dispose of this Clippers team without needing overtime this time around? Let’s break it down.
My Suns vs. Clippers prediction is below.
The Suns have gone 3-1 to start the year and their defense looks much improved, ranking seventh in defensive rating.
The one game they dropped to the Lakers saw LA shoot 52% from three, so I am not reading into that loss too much.
The Suns faced the Clippers on opening night and managed to pull off an impressive comeback win in overtime. They averaged a dreadful 102.7 points per 100 possessions in that game.
This is a great spot for them to improve on their lackluster opening night performance as they will have a two-day rest edge over the Clippers tonight.
The Clippers are on a back-to-back here after facing the Blazers on Wednesday night.
Their defense struggled in transition last night, allowing Portland a high 18% transition rate and 176.9 transition points per play, according to Cleaning the Glass. It was a disappointing effort after starting out the year so good in transition defense.
This will be a more half-court-oriented game and the Clippers have showed they can be solid against Phoenix in the half-court. They did a good job of limiting Devin Booker as he took just nine total shots and finished with 15 points in the opener.
Phoenix will have to find ways to get Booker more involved here if it wants to win with margin this time around.

Betting Pick & Prediction
I lean towards the Suns at -4.5 here as they have the massive rest edge and should play with a bit more urgency after nearly losing to this Clippers team on opening night.
The Clippers might be fatigued after a hard-fought game with the Blazers last night and I expect the Suns to capitalize on their rest edge.
