The Thunder are 4-point favorites over the Knicks on the spread (Thunder -4), with the over/under set at 225.5 total points. Oklahoma City is a -170 favorite to win outright, while New York is +145 to pull off the upset.

Let's get into my Thunder vs. Knicks predictions and NBA picks for Friday, January 10.

I will not be betting the moneyline in this matchup. However, I would lean toward the Knicks in this market, as I am already backing them to cover the spread.

I'm staying away from the total in tonight's contest.

Thunder vs. Knicks Preview

The Oklahoma City Thunder are set for a rematch against the Knicks as they continue their Eastern Conference Gauntlet. The Thunder mounted an incredible second-half comeback a week ago against the Knicks, but are we in for a different outcome today?

The Knicks have listed both Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) and Miles McBride (hamstring) as Questionable for this game. The Thunder will continue to be without Alex Caruso (hip) and Chet Holmgren (hip) as well.

The Thunder have demonstrated they have enough depth regardless while the Knicks would be in trouble without their key rotation players.

When these two teams played a week ago, a key story was the difference in scoring from beyond the arc. The Knicks shot just 28% from 3-point range compared to OKC shooting 52% from deep. They literally could not miss.

While the Knicks do not defend the 3-ball that well, this was still far above expectation for Oklahoma City and below for the Knicks.

Aside from Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby, the Knicks struggled to shoot the basketball. Some of this may have been because they were without Miles McBride with the bench unit.

We should again target Mikal Bridges in this spot. Oklahoma City allows 3-point opportunities from the corner, and this is a spot where Bridges thrives. He was 4/11 from beyond the arc last week, takes 22% of his shots from the corner, making 43% of them. His points prop is set at 17.5 and he has exceeded that in six of his last 10 games. I'll grab over 17.5 points.

One of Oklahoma City's strengths is its defensive physicality. The Thunder have been wildly successful when they can play extremely physical defense and they get called for fewer fouls.

One of their interesting splits is in wins they have about 4 fewer fouls called against them than in losses, per Basketball Reference. Regardless, they are called for fouls at the ninth-highest rate in the league. This is a potential edge.

One player to key in on for Oklahoma City is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Knicks did not have a great answer for him despite OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart spending time on him. He's now scored 30+ in seven of his last 10 games, and should continue to pace the Thunder tonight.

Thunder vs. Knicks Prediction

These two teams battled a week ago and the Knicks controlled the first half before Oklahoma City turned the water off and won the second half by a score of 63-41, backed by an insane 62.5% 3-point percentage in the final two quarters.

With the Knicks at home and McBride having some time to recover from this injury, it should help their depth as well.

It's a bit of a get-right spot for Oklahoma City after they dropped one to the Cavaliers. However, when we look at the results from previous meeting between these two teams, the Thunder were powered by an incredible shooting streak in the 2H.

I'll grab the points with the Knicks at home this time around, and expect them to be locked in to avoid a 2H barrage like that.

For my same game parlay, I'll take Bridges 15+ Points, SGA 25+ Points, and KAT 12+ Rebounds.

Best Bet: Knicks +4

Same Game Parlay Picks

  • Mikal Bridges 15+ Points (-280)
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 25+ Points (-550)
  • Karl-Anthony Towns 12+ Rebounds (-350)

Parlay Payout: +100
