Portland Trail Blazers vs Toronto Raptors NBA Preview
By Picks Office
Jakob Poeltl and Immanuel Quickley are resting, and Scottie Barnes is questionable, so the Raptors may be without some key pieces. Toronto just lost to Portland by a score of 105-102 with a full roster. The Raptors shot 40.4% and surrendered 14 offensive rebounds in that game. Now they are even thinner.
Anfernee Simons might return, but the Blazers' depth wins out either way. The Trail Blazers have scored an average of 127.4 points per game in their last three wins, hitting 20+ threes in two of those victories. Since March 15, Portland is top-10 in 3-pointers made per game.
Toronto allows 36.2% from beyond the arc, which ranks bottom-10 in the league, and they recently gave up 137 to Chicago, 123 to Detroit, and 129 to Phoenix. The Raptors are very weak defensively inside-and-out with Poeltl gone. The Blazers should be able to pick them apart.
Toronto is just 6-12 SU as a home underdog, now running deep-bench lineups. The road team is 9-3 ATS in the last 12 head to head meetings between these two squads. The Blazers are 5-2 SU in their last seven matchups against losing teams.
No rim protection, no energy. Portland should roll, even without Simons.
