Warriors vs. Hornets Preview
We hit this at 101.5 when these two teams matched up last week. It had slipped under 100 by game time with LaMelo Ball getting ruled out. Charlotte stumbled to 92 points, and it was much worse until a 27-point 4th quarter in garbage time.
The Hornets are playing at home for this matchup and Ball should be in the lineup. Even considering those factors, the line jumping up to 107.5 seems like quite a leap.
Charlotte averaged an egregious 99.5 PPG in February. They kicked off March by scoring 100 points against the Wizards. The Wizards!
The Hornets are still slightly ahead of Washington in offensive rating on the season (106.4), but they're easily dead last over the past 15 games. Charlotte's 101.3 offensive rating during that stretch is nowhere near the 29th-place Nets at 106.1.
The Warriors are top-10 in defensive rating and points allowed this season. They've been even better with Jimmy Butler on the floor, posting an elite 105.7 defensive rating. They have also played much slower with Butler in the game.
The Hornets are in their own building, but they haven't had significant home/road splits on offense (105.9 PPG at home vs. 104.3 PPG on the road). Golden State has been similarly stout on defense regardless of venue, with a 111.2 defensive rating at home compared to 112.0 on the road.
The Hornets haven't topped 100 points in 5 straight games. They've been held under this 107.5 number in 9 of their last 10 games.

Warriors vs. Hornets Prediction
Oddsmakers are not being forced to move these Hornets totals too much lower, mostly because the opposition is scoring so freely. It certainly isn't because Charlotte is doing anything special on offense, failing to clear 100 points in six straight games.
Top scorer LaMelo Ball did return to active duty on Saturday at Washington, but it didn't help much in a 113-100 loss to the lowly Wizards. It's still been Unders in seven of the last 10 for Charlotte, including last Tuesday's 128-92 loss at Chase Center vs. the Warriors.
Jimmy Butler is expected back for Steve Kerr tonight after missing Saturday's loss tot he Sixers with back spasms. Note, Golden State had only been allowing 103 points per game with Butler in the lineup until the first two of this road trip at Orlando and Philly.
