Warriors vs. Pelicans Preview
This line seems like an overreaction to Jordan Hawkins' rough game on Monday. Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum are out again tonight, which means there are tons of shots and usage available for the remaining Pelicans.
Hawkins' points prop closed at 20.5 at most books last game. It reached 21.5 at some points during the day. Hawkins led the Pelicans in usage with a massive 32.8% mark and paced the team with 14 shot attempts. But, he went 4 for 14 from the field and 1 for 9 from 3-point range. He also went 0 for 2 from the free throw line, finishing with 9 points.
It was a disappointing showing for sure, especially after Hawkins lit up a good Detroit defense on Sunday. The underlying numbers were tremendous, Hawkins just couldn't hit shots against Philly.
Golden State is a much tougher matchup, especially with Jimmy Butler in the fold. It's understandable that Hawkins' points prop is lower than it was against the Sixers, but a 6-point drop is surprising.
Hawkins is well-positioned to lead New Orleans in usage and shot attempts again. He's averaging 18.1 PPG as a starter (8 games). The Warriors are massive favorites, but Hawkins should stay on the floor even in a blowout.
If we get at least 15 combined shots and free throws again tonight, we should feel good about Hawkins putting up 15 points.
Best Bet: Jordan Hawkins Over 14.5 Points (-120)

Warriors vs Pelicans Betting Predictions
With Steph Curry upgraded to questionable, the Warriors moved from -11.5-point road favorites to -14.5 for Friday night’s matchup against a shorthanded Pelicans team missing multiple key players.
Given the implications, this game may end up in a rout, with the Warriors' bench players getting significant minutes. As a result, it might make sense to take more of a bearish approach to Golden State’s player props.
Jimmy Butler is one player who comes to mind, considering he has a rebounds + assists prop listed at 12.5. Butler has stayed under this number eight for eight straight road games and 69% (31 of 45) of his games this season. His season average is 11.09 rebounds + assists with a median of 10.
So, the current line feels like a reach in this spot, especially if we anticipate him playing fewer minutes.
Pick: Jimmy Butler Under 12.5 Rebounds + Assists (-140)
