Positive luck regression coming for UNI For starters, opponents are shooting 39.1% from 3 — a number that is unsustainable against this defense. Defensively speaking, the two teams are similar on their defensive advanced metrics from a ShotQuality perspective, but the results have not gone UNI’s way (they have Richmond). UNI is a top 100 offense, does not turn the ball over and are 35th in minutes continuity. That means its only a matter of of time before a turnaround. Richmond is bad at defensive rebounding and don’t force turnovers either. In a 50-50 game where Northern Iowa has dealt with poor luck, I’m backing the Panthers and positive regression. FWIW, ShotQuality has Richmond results at 3-5, a flipped record.
