If you're here, you know that the 2021 NIT is happening, albeit with just 16 teams, and all in one location.
The NIT tips off Wednesday from the Dallas-Fort Worth area two days in advance of the true first round of the NCAA Tournament. It finishes up the following weekend. With just 16 teams, it will only take six days of games to complete.
While the field is smaller, the teams look about the same — mid-majors who finished second or third in the conferences, and Power 5 schools who posted winning records but weren't quite good enough to get into the Big Dance.
