2022 MAC Tournament Odds
The MAC Tournament will tip off on Thursday, March 9.
Toledo is far and away the best team in the conference, according to advanced metrics. The Rockets clock in at No. 75 in the country according to KenPom — the next closest team in the conference is Ohio at 119th.
Despite the team's regular-season dominance, Toledo is +165 to win the tournament while Ohio is in lockstep at +240.
The two teams wouldn't have to face off until the championship game. Toledo beat Ohio both times during the regular season.
A detriment to Toledo's side of the bracket is Buffalo, which is third-best in the conference at No. 123 in KenPom ratings. The Bulls are the No. 5 seed in the conference and would face off against Toledo in the semifinals should both teams get by their quarterfinal opponents.
Toledo also beat Buffalo both times during the regular season.
Buffalo has the fourth-best to win this tournament at +650.
It's much more challenging for a team to make the NCAA Tournament without the automatic bid that comes with winning its conference tournament, so it's do or die for these programs.
