It wasn't as substantial as Princeton or FDU in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament from an upset perspective. But No. 5 San Diego State taking out No. 1 Alabama in the Sweet 16 has the Aztecs one win from the Final Four and two from a chance to win the whole thing in a bracket shake-up.

After two underdogs won outright to close out Thursday, San Diego State picked up right where they left off Friday. The Aztecs cashed as high as +280 on the moneyline over the No. 1 overall seed, 71-64.

San Diego State plays the winner of Princeton vs. Creighton. The Aztecs were +650 entering the week to make the Final Four, and now could be laying chalk Sunday.

The Aztecs have +750 odds to win the NCAA Tournament at DraftKings – that implies a probability of 12.5%.

San Diego State has now won seven consecutive games, with five straight games.

The Aztecs won and notched ATS wins as favorites over College of Charleston in the Round of 64 and Furman the following round.

San Diego State had been a popular pick to be upset in the first round by the College of Charleston, but the Aztecs eked out a narrow six-point win on the backs of their lights-out defense.

The Aztecs are the fifth-best defense in the nation, according to KenPom, behind four other teams in the tournament: Tennessee, UCLA, Alabama and Houston. It's how they've made it this far in the tourney.
