Alabama vs Florida College Basketball Betting Preview

By Brian Edwards

Florida (28-4 straight up, 24-8 against the spread) is 10-1 both SU and ATS in its last 11 games, winning those 10 games by margins of 14, 19, five, 19, 14, 22, 21, 13, nine and 11 points.

The Gators are the best team in the country with incredible size and depth. Also, they have one of the best players in the country in Walter Clayton Jr., who had 18 points and six assists in last night's 95-81 win over Missouri.

Florida has won three games in a row in this rivalry, both SU and ATS, including a 102-88 win in last year's SEC Tournament and a 99-94 win at Alabama 10 days ago.

Alabama (25-7 SU, 19-13 ATS) has recovered nicely from the loss to Florida, winning back-to-back games at Auburn and vs. Kentucky (99-70) last night. I still think the Crimson Tide are a Final Four team and might be the second-best team in the country.

However, the Gators are the best team in the nation. They will cover this inexpensive number and probably win by double digits.

Also, I'm looking at the Gators' team total, as well. In the last three head-to-head meetings between these teams, Florida has scored 99, 102 and 105 points. In the Gators' last four games, they've scored 89, 99, 90 and 95 points.

KenPom has UF ranked No. 3 nationally in offensive efficiency. Alabama has given up 97 points to Kentucky this year, 99 to Florida, 110 to Missouri, 94 to Auburn, 90 to North Dakota and 90 to Rutgers.

Florida gets into the mid-90s — and possibly 100 — on Saturday while advancing to the SEC title game.
