Butler vs UConn College Basketball Betting Preview
Coming off a home loss to Creighton, UConn is likely to bounce back in a big way against a Big East bottom-feeder on Tuesday.
That's especially the case with a motivator like Dan Hurley at the helm.
UConn has been a different team without freshman Liam McNeeley. The Huskies are just 2-2 since the team's third-leading scorer went down with an injury — and in one of the victories, they needed a comeback to beat Providence at home.
On the plus side, UConn is playing Butler on Tuesday. The Huskies are sizable favorites, but the Bulldogs put up a fight at home in the first meeting, losing by just four points while covering in a game that McNeeley put up 17 points.
I don't think that will be the case in this game, though.
First, Samson Johnson and Tarris Reed Jr. both dealt with foul trouble in that first meeting, allowing Andre Screen to post a 17-point, 10-rebound line.
Second, Butler shot 12 more free throws, something that's unlikely to happen again on the road in Hartford.
UConn is still being priced as if it's a national title contender — which I don't think it is this season — so I'm going to roll with the Huskies on the first-half spread instead of the full game. They're going to come out angry and focused after a disappointing home loss to Creighton.
