My Chattanooga vs Bradley NIT Betting Preview
By: Bruce Marshall
SoCon sources suggest Chattanooga expects to get to Hinkle Fieldhouse next week and succeed once there after passing a gut-check at Murfreesboro in the first round, notching a triple-overtime win over Middle Tennessee and then dominating a Dayton side that many believed to be the favorite in this event.
Sharp edges abound for head coach Dan Earl, especially 5-foot-10, go-to senior guard Honor Huff, who's tapped a rich late-season vein of form by scoring at a 22-point clip in the past seven games (including 28 in the romp past the Flyers).
Meanwhile, former Florida transfer Trey Bonham has scored at a bristling 26-point-per-game pace in the first two rounds.
More balance is provided by 6-foot-6 ex-Bellarmine battering ram Bash Wielnd, who scored 31 in the wild first-round victory over the Blue Raiders.
Still, clearing 152 looks a tall order. Despite the fact that Bradley leads the nation in 3-point accuracy (40%), it's been seven games since the Braves hit a scoreline beyond 152.
