My Cincinnati vs Iowa State College Basketball Betting Preview

I'm backing Cincinnati against Iowa State. I reckon we'll be catching a hefty spread in this one.

Cincinnati has really started clicking on offense, primarily thanks to Jizzle James stepping up his game. He seriously lacked confidence early in the season, but he's averaged 16.4 points over his past five.

The rest of the team is also gaining confidence, scoring 84, 85 and 93 points in their past three games, respectively.

I also think the Bearcats match up quite well with Iowa State.

The key to stopping Iowa State is to avoid turnovers and defend in transition. The Bearcats rank in the top 50 nationally in offensive turnover rate (15%, per KenPom) and the top 25 in transition points per game (nine, per Synergy).

This is also a desperation spot for Cincinnati, which is fighting for its life to make the NCAA Tournament. Bart Torvik currently projects the Bearcats with a 14% chance at an at-large bid, but a win over Iowa State would certainly boost those projections.

I’m seeing some value on the Bearcats, especially on the road, where the spread is a tad inflated.

I think Cincinnati can keep it tight, especially now that the Bearcats have sorted out their issues on offense.
