Cincinnati vs Northern Kentucky College Basketball Betting Preview
Cincinnati hasn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2019 (when Mick Cronin was the head coach), but this year's roster is Wes Miller's most talented team yet.
While the Bearcats are undefeated and haven't been tested, injuries have been the storyline of their season thus far. Day Day Thomas is day-to-day with a foot injury and hasn't played yet, and Dan Skillings is out "several weeks" after a knee procedure.
That's two of the Bearcats' top three scorers from last season, so that certainly favors the Norse in this spot.
However, the Bearcats are deep and talented; Simas Lukosius is averaging almost 18 points per game, Jizzle James is looking like a massive breakout candidate, Dillon Mitchell is averaging 12 and nine and Aziz Bandaogo is posting almost five blocks a game.
On the Northern Kentucky side, it will have an incredibly tough time scoring in the paint against Bandaogo.
Also, Sam Vinson — arguably Darrin Horn's best player — is still get his footing under him after a season-ending knee injury, as he's averaging less than six points per game. Dan Gherezgher Jr., a key transfer from D-II, is only playing 16 points per night and hasn't looked like the player expected for Horn and company.
Regardless of the injury issues for the Bearcats, I'm going to take them on the spread. They have a major advantage in the paint and more depth than the Norse.
Most importantly, the injuries haven't seem to impact Cincinnati's ATS record this season (2-1 ATS).
