Noon basketball — what a blessing! We'll have plenty of afternoon hoops on our hands over the next couple of weeks, including the nationally televised Clemson-NC State game today 12 p.m. ET.
Since it will be played in relative isolation compared to the rest of the slate, this ACC tourney matchup is commanding the most bets of the day so far.
On the spread, Clemson is the popular choice, as it has commanded nearly two-thirds of the bets to move from -1 to -1.5.
The over/under is a different story, as sharp bettors have made some moves this morning.
With 52% of bets, the under is actually the more popular side. It's tough to blame those bettors, as unders have hit at a 52.7% rate in regular and postseason games played on neutral courts. It's not a massive edge, but a start.
However, the pros are wagering that this is going to be one of the 47.3% of games that goes over.
After opening at 140, a steam move hit the over right before 10 a.m. ET. This wave of sharp action caused the line to move to 141 at most books with even a couple of 142s sprinkled in.
However, it didn't stop there. Just before 10:30 a.m., the total made a full two-point jump to 144, and is even up to 144.5 at some books. If we check our money percentages, the over, which had been getting 40% of the cash at 6 a.m., is up to 66% now, which further explains this big move.
