Coastal Carolina vs Georgia Southern College Basketball Betting Preview
These two teams were supposed to play last night, but because of weather, this game was moved to Thursday, giving us an early afternoon juicy Sun Belt game with betting value.
Coastal and Georgia Southern played a week ago in Conway, SC. That game went to overtime, with Georgia Southern winning by only one point, despite threatening to break things open twice with a nine-point lead and a seven-point lead.
But the Chants shot 48% from downtown in that game when they shoot 34% from deep for the season.
Now they have to go on the road and try to keep up in a fast-paced, likely high-scoring game.
The Chants are normally one of the slowest-paced teams in the nation (354th in adjusted tempo), while the Eagles are one of the fastest (39th in adjusted tempo).
Bart Torvik (+3.5) shows significant value on this spread in favor of the Chants. Meanwhile, Coastal is due for a bounce back after losing four straight.
But unless they can completely slow down the pace on the road again, I'm not sure Coastal has the goods to keep up a second time around.
