The Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers will clash in Tuscaloosa on Saturday afternoon.

The football game between these schools — the Iron Bowl — may get plenty of shine, but this is much more than a football rivalry. In fact, the matchup dates back to March 1, 1924, and Alabama leads the all-time series, 102-68.

This also marks the first No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in college basketball since John Calipari and the Memphis Tigers clashed with Bruce Pearl's Tennesee Volunteers in 2008.

College Basketball Parlay for Alabama vs. Auburn

Quickslip

Pearl and the Vols pulled off the upset, defeating the top-ranked Tigers, 66-62, to become the top-ranked team in college basketball.

Remarkably, Pearl will also take part in the first-ever matchup between No. 1 and No. 2 in SEC basketball history today.

Auburn will attempt to defend its top ranking after posting a record of 22-2 on the season. The Tigers have gone 10-1 in SEC play, tied with the Florida Gators for the best record in the conference.

Pearl's team suffered its first loss since Dec. 4 last weekend against those same Gators. However, Auburn bounced back during the week with an 80-68 road win over Vanderbilt.

The Tigers have reached the Big Dance in three straight seasons but have not passed the Round of 32 in any of them.

Senior Johni Broome has been one of the best players in college basketball this season, leading the team with 18.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

Chad Baker-Mazara has enjoyed a strong season as well with 12.2 points and 3.4 rebounds, while Tahaad Pettiford has added 11.5 points and 2.7 rebounds.

On the other side, the Tide roll into play with a record of 21-3.

Since taking over the program, head coach Nate Oats has done as good a job as anyone in college basketball, turning Alabama into a college basketball powerhouse.

The Tide have gone dancing for four straight years and will be headed to their fifth in a row this season. Bama danced to the Final Four last season, where they lost to Dan Hurley and the UConn Huskies, 86-72.

The Crimson Tide have won seven straight games. In fact, the last loss for Alabama came on Jan. 14 against Ole Miss.

Senior Mark Sears leads the Tide with 17.8 points and 4.8 assists, while Grant Nelson has averaged 12.7 points and a team-best 8.1 rebounds. Auburn transfer Aden Holloway has added 11.8 points and 2.0 assists as well.

With the matchup set, let's dive into my college basketball parlay and NCAAB picks for Alabama vs. Auburn on Saturday, Feb. 15.

Moneyline: Auburn +110

We'll ride with this underdog in this matchup.

The Tigers match up well with the Tide, and their physicality will give Alabama issues. Bama is reliant on its 3-ball, and Auburn is one of the best defensive teams in college basketball.

Pearl will have a strong game plan to take the Tide's 3-point game away on Saturday.

Auburn Player Prop: Johni Broome 20+ Points

As good as the Tide have been this season, they haven't been great on the defensive side of the ball.

Broome will have his way in the paint against an Alabama team that struggles to protect the rim.

Alabama ranks 318th in points allowed per game (78.5).

Alabama Player Prop: Grant Nelson 13+ Points

Nelson matches up well on the offensive end against Auburn.

Broome will likely spend most of the game matched up with Nelson. Nelson's ability to stretch the floor and shoot the 3-ball will bode well for this prop.
