The No. 19 UConn Huskies (16-6, 8-3) will host No. 12 St. John's Red Storm (20-3, 11-1) on Friday night in a heavyweight Big East showdown.

Earlier in the week, St. John's picked up a crucial win at home over Marquette.

Head coach Rick Pitino has done as good of a job as any coach in college basketball this season. Pitino has brought back the winning culture to this St. John's program, one that hasn't recorded an NCAA Tournament win since 2000. Since 2015, St. John's has reached the Big Dance just once.

The Johnnies have pieced together nine consecutive wins, as the team's last loss came back on New Year's Eve to Creighton, 57-56.

The Red Storm will attempt to snap a four-game losing streak against UConn on Friday.

Senior RJ Luis Jr. leads the team with 17.4 points per game. Kansas transfer Zuby Ejiofor has enjoyed a strong season, too, with 14.3 points and a team-leading 8.3 rebounds per game.

Meanwhile, the Huskies are attempting to win their third straight National Championship, as head coach Dan Hurley has turned Storrs, Connecticut, into basketball heaven over the past few seasons.

The Huskies have dealt with adversity this season after beginning the campaign ranked third in the nation. UConn lost three straight games in November and hasn't returned to the top 10 of the AP Poll.

The Huskies have dominated at home this season with a 10-1 record, and they're coming off a crucial road win over Marquette on Saturday.

Leesburg, Virginia, native Solo Ball leads the Huskies with 15 points per game. Freshman Liam McNeeley has added 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game and should return from an injury in this one.

With the matchup set, let's dive into my college basketball same game parlay for UConn vs. St. John's on Friday, February 7.
