  • Using the Action Network's betting tools, we break down the crazy line movement for one of Thursday night's smallest college basketball games - Jackson State vs. Portland University.

We have a huge basketball game on tap tonight, folks. No, not the Lakers-Bucks game featuring the likes of LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

I'm talking about the Jackson State vs. Portland University clash of titans, featuring household names like Jayveous McKinnis and Tahirou Diabate.

Alright, I suppose most of you wouldn't watch this game if it was being played in your driveway, but sharp bettors have found oodles of value on the spread.

Jackson State, at just 2-8 in the SWAC, might be considered a longshot against the 8-3 Portland Pilots. Portland's a long way from Jackson, Miss., and Tigers clearly haven't been playing great basketball this season.

With that in mind, Jackson State did open as a fairly substantial longshot — as high as 10.5 point dogs at some books. However, a non-stop onslaught of pro action has driven their line all the way to +4.

Public bettors have likely taken a look at the two teams' records when making up their mind on this game, as just 20% of tickets are on Jackson State. It's quite clear big bettors are in love with them, though, as the money percentage reads 62%.

Furthermore, we've tracked three Bet Signals on the Tigers — one at +6.5, one at +6 and one at +5. The line can still be found at +5 at a few books, as this line isn't completely uniform around the market.

One thing to keep in mind is that this in an "extra game", which is often the case with small college games like this.

It means that limits are lower ($500 at one of my books compared to $10,000 for the main college games) and it doesn't take as much to move the line.
