A bold bet placed in December via the SuperBook app in Nevada cashed big Saturday night.

The unknown bettor placed a $500 bet on Florida Atlantic University to make the Final Four. The odds? 400/1.

FAU’s win over Kansas State resulted in the bettor taking home $200,000.

“Hoo would have guessed it?” said SuperBook’s Jay Kornegay, playing on FAU’s owl nickname. “Great call and deserved 400-1 in December.”

Kornegay said FAU, remarkably, was on the original list of Final Four teams the sportsbook posted.

The Owls are only the third No. 9 seed to reach the Final Four. The others? Penn (1979) and Wichita State (2013).

FAU will play the winner of Sunday’s Creighton-San Diego State game.
