Georgia Tech vs Pitt College Basketball Betting Preview

Georgia Tech is just 13-14 on the season — including a 7-9 record in a shaky ACC — but it's played well against good teams. The Jackets beat Clemson in three overtimes on the road, defeated Louisville at home and nearly topped UNC in Chapel Hill.

I know the Yellow Jackets have been without Javian McCollum (concussion) for the last three games and it feels like they lack talent — especially without their fourth-leading scorer — but Pitt is turning into a pumpkin.

The Panthers had two separate four-game losing streaks in January and February and are coming off a loss to 12-15 Notre Dame. They now sit in the "Next Four Out" category in ESPN's latest Bracketology, so things aren't good right now for Jeff Capel & Co.

If Georgia Tech got one more body back, I could maybe get behind it as an ACC sleeper or dark horse in the conference tournament. So, this is a game that might shock people.

Also, it's pretty obvious that Pitt misses Damian Dunn, who's out for the season with an elbow injury. The Panthers were clearly better early in the year when they had him in full form, beating the likes of West Virginia and LSU in the non-conference.

Ultimately, I just think this is too many points. Pitt shouldn't be favored by nearly double digits and Georgia Tech is competitive.
