The 'Zags check in as KenPom's second-best team in the country, and the best on the offensive side of the ball. However, Gonzaga struggled mightily with St. Mary’s in the West Coast Conference championship game, losing by 13 points to the Gaels.

The Knights (20-13 overall, 12-6 conference) have won eight straight, including an upset over top seed Saint Francis 85-76 to win the Northeast Conference, punching their second ticket to the Big Dance in the last four years. Their reward? A 16-seed lamb getting walked to the No. 1 seed slaughterhouse.
Are they this year's UMBC: a 16 beating a 1? The analytics would suggest not. The Knights rank 209th in adjusted efficiency. They have a high-powered offense (135th in offensive efficiency, scoring 75.4 PPG), with five scorers in double-figures, led by senior Darnell Edge (16.4 PPG).
