Iowa Hawkeyes

Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes are coming off a shocking 82-79 loss on the road to unranked Nebraska. Everything was business as usual in the first 30 minutes for the Hawkeyes, as they went into the fourth quarter with a 14-point lead.

Head coach Lisa Bluder said ahead of Sunday’s game that she believed Iowa fans deserved to see Caitlin break the scoring record, and after Iowa was outscored 27-10 in the fourth quarter with Clark going scoreless in the final 10 minutes for the first time in her career, the home fans will have a great chance to see history tonight.

It's the first time Caitlin Clark has played an entire fourth quarter and not scored. She was 0-for-6 from the field in the period, tied for her second-worst shooting performance in any quarter of her career. (via @ESPNStatsInfo)

Michigan Wolverines

The Wolverines are coming off an impressive home win over Rutgers without the services of their leading scorer, Laila Phelia. The junior guard ranks 10th in the Big Ten in scoring averaging at 16.1 points per game. Only three players on Michigan’s current roster have ever played minutes at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, with Phelia being the only one to play more than five minutes.

This year’s Wolverines squad gets the majority of their points from the 3-point line, which the Hawkeyes guard particularly well by holding opponents to under 30% on the season from beyond the arc.

Betting Pick & Prediction

Iowa is an offensive juggernaut, ranking first in the country in HerHoopStats.com’s Offensive Rating and 17th in Pace. Not only are the Hawkeyes elite offensively, but they are one of the most efficient scoring teams we’ve seen in decades.

Entering last Sunday’s game at Nebraska, the Hawkeyes had five games in which they had scored 80 points or fewer. In the five games following those performances, the Hawkeyes are averaging 98 points per game, shooting 56.5% from the field, hitting 42.1% from 3 and dishing 24.5 assists per game.

Those would all rank first in the country, and Iowa simply doesn’t have two poor shooting games in a row.

Average ticket prices for entry into tonight’s game are nearly $400, with courtside seats going for nearly $10,000. So unlike all other Iowa sellouts this season, this crowd will be absolutely juiced for Clark to officially become the greatest scorer in the history of the game.

Michigan is 1-4 ATS in Big 10 road games since January, and their inexperience will show up again on the road tonight in Iowa City. Back the greatest show on Earth and enjoy Clark's record-breaking night by backing the Hawkeyes to ride the electric home crowd to cover the big number.

Pick: Iowa -18.5 (-110 | Play to -20.5)
