My Kentucky vs. Texas NCAAB Betting Preview
Texas has been struggling, losing its last three games with its most recent loss coming against an Alabama team that was on fire from 3-point range.
On the flip side, Kentucky is riding high after a big win over Tennessee, a game where the Volunteers just couldn't buy a bucket.
However, I'm still not convinced by Kentucky's defense, especially on the road.
Its 2-point defense isn't great, ranking around 300th, but it's in the top 20 when it comes to defending the 3. However, that won't hold for long since it's outside the top 300 in terms of allowing 3-point shots.
Since the start of the year, Texas has struggled to make 3s at home, shooting just 30%. Opponents, however, are hitting 43% against the Longhorns. Kentucky is a solid shooting team, but its 42% shooting in SEC games is bound to dip soon.
I'm expecting Texas to bounce back with a better performance in this matchup, especially considering Kentucky's challenges on the offensive boards.
The Longhorns can also keep the Wildcats from getting into transition, and they've tackled the toughest SEC schedule so far.
Plus, Kentucky isn't at full strength; we're not sure if Lamont Butler or Jaxson Robinson will play. All in all, I believe this is a prime opportunity for Texas to shine.
