Michigan vs Maryland College Basketball Betting Preview
Maryland has been impressive defensively, allowing just 66.7 points per game, which ranks 41st in the country. The Terrapins make it very hard for teams to find open looks, allowing opponents to convert just 41.3% of their shot attempts.
They have done a tremendous job of defending the 3-point line, giving up makes at just a 30.5% clip. That's the 40th-best mark in the country, and the 6.5 makes per game they allow is the 43rd-fewest in the country.
Michigan has struggled to shoot the 3-ball. In fact, its 3-point percentage of 33.5% ranks just 206th in the country.
Maryland should clean up on the defensive glass in this one, as it allows just over eight offensive rebounds per game. For as good as Danny Wolf and Vlad Goldin are, they haven't been great offensive rebounders for the Wolverines.
Maryland allows teams to just a 0.8 assist-to-turnover ratio, the 29th-best in the country. To make matters even more complicated, Michigan turns it over 14.1 times per game — the ninth-highest rate in the country.
Maryland has been even more impressive on the offensive end, averaging 81.7 points per game. That's good for 26th in the country, and it's been efficient as well, converting 47.3% of its shot attempts.
The Wolverines haven't been great defensively and come into this one allowing 71.5 points per game.
They have especially struggled to defend the 3-point line, allowing 7.7 makes per game from deep. Well, Maryland has shot it very well from deep, hitting 37.3% to rank 43rd nationally.
Maryland won't leave points at the line, hitting over 75% of its free throw attempts. The Terps should also clean up the offensive glass, as Michigan has allowed 9.6 offensive rebounds per game.
