The Kalshi odds for this year's NCAA Women's College Basketball Champion have changed dramatically following No. 7 UConn's 87-58 beatdown of No.4 South Carolina on Sunday.
Prior to last weekend's top-10 matchup, the Gamecocks were the clear favorite, leading the field with a 35.6% chance of hoisting the trophy at the end of the season. At the time, UConn's odds were below the 1% threshold.
However, Geno Auriemma's Huskies are now tied with Dawn Staley's Gamecocks at the top of the table, each with a 21% chance of being crowned champion in April.
No. 3 ranked UCLA slid to the third spot (18%) after suffering its first loss of the season — to crosstown rival USC.
What is Kalshi?
Different than a traditional sportsbook and available in all 50 states, Kalshi allows users to make predictions across several unique markets, including sports, entertainment, elections and even weather.
Kalshi operates on a contract-based system where users buy "contracts" (priced between 1–99 cents) based on whether they believe a specific event will happen. The price of each contract fluctuates in real time based on market sentiment and like the stock market, traders can sell positions early to lock in profits (or minimize losses).
