North Carolina is set to launch mobile sports wagering in the state on March 11.
There is nothing North Carolina loves more than college basketball, so with the state's launch coming soon, it's time to talk about Appalachian State's chances of making the NCAA Tournament.
The Mountaineers will play their first Sun Belt Tournament game Saturday, although the tournament starts Tuesday. App State earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament after going 16-2 in the conference.
Despite being the first seed, the Mountaineers are the second-biggest favorite in the Sun Belt Tournament. They are +210 at FanDuel to win the tournament while James Madison is the favorite at +135.
The Sun Belt will likely be a one-bid league. James Madison has shown up as one of the next four out on some bracketology predictions, but James Madison and Appalachian State are not likely to receive an at-large bid.
That means Appalachian State will have to win the Sun Belt in order to make the NCAA Tournament. The Mountaineers still have odds at FanDuel to win the national championship. They are +60000 to lift the trophy in April.
If you believe in App State to make a Cinderella run, they are +15000 to make the Final Four.

Eight sportsbooks will launch March 11, including the aforementioned DraftKings and their main national competitor FanDuel. Fanatics, ESPN BET, BetMGM, Caesars, bet365 and Underdog Sports will join the two big dogs.
