Get ready folks, a basketball game for the ages will be played tonight. No, not Zion Williamson's debut, I'm talking about the Battle of the Dakota State Universities.
In the blue corner, we have the North Dakota State Bison — 13-6 overall and 4-1 in Summit League conference play, good for first place. In the red corner, we have the South Dakota State Jackrabbits — 14-8 overall and 5-2 in the Summit League, right behind the Bison.
Odds as of Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. ET and via FanDuel, where Action Network users get a risk-free bet up to $500.
This is legitimately a big game for Summit League diehards and basketball lovers in the Dakotas. And guess what? Sharps are all over it.
North Dakota State vs. South Dakota State Sharp Report
With both teams being the cream of the Summit League crop, oddsmakers opened this game with the Jackrabbits as 2.5-point favorites.
In others words, they viewed the two teams as essentially equal when you take home-court advantage into account (that Jackrabbit crowd gets nuts!).
Sharps do not feel the two teams are equals, though. While the Jackrabbits are commanding 69% of the bets, the Bison were getting more than 80% of the early cash.
We also tracked two Bet Signals on the Bison, both of which hit at +2.5. All of this sharp activity has caused the line to move to a pick 'em.
The money percentages have since come back down to earth following the substantial line movement, with ND State falling into the 40% range. This may be a sign that buyback is coming on the Jackrabbits.
Sharp angle: North Dakota State (moved from +2.5 to pick'em)
