I'm going with FAU to snap its losing streak and cover the spread in a home win.

I think FAU wins this straight up, but I feel a little more comfortable taking the spread.

Over/Under

I don't have a pick on the over/under.

My Pick: FAU +1.5 (Play to -3)

North Texas vs FAU College Basketball Betting Preview

North Texas (20-6, 11-3) travels to balmy Boca Raton to face Florida Atlantic (15-12, 8-6) in a key contest for both teams.

The Mean Green are just one game behind No. 18 Memphis for the top spot in the AAC. Meanwhile, Florida Atlantic trails Tulane by one game for the No. 4 seed, the final spot for a double-bye in the AAC Tournament.

North Texas and Florida Atlantic are polar opposites.

The Mean Green want to slow it down. North Texas is ferocious on defense, ranking first in points per game allowed (58.8) and 3-point percentage (30.0) — as well as second in field goal percentage (40.9) — in the AAC.

North Texas is having an excellent season despite being last in the AAC in points per game scored (68.1). Former FAU player Brenen Lorient is averaging 11.8 points in his last 10 games for North Texas.

Lorient and Atin Wright each scored 17 points in the North Texas' 77-64 victory earlier this season vs. Florida Atlantic.

The Owls' interior defense has to focus on Lorient and Moulaye Sissoko, who both shoot over 57% from the field.

FAU thrives when it dictates an up-tempo pace. The Owls' offense is second in points per game (80.3) and field goal percentage (46.5) in the AAC.

Florida Atlantic spreads the wealth offensively, with eight players averaging at least seven points per game. Baba Miller, Tre Carroll and Matas Vokietaitis are crafty playmaking bigs.

However, the Owls' defense is last in the AAC in 3-point percentage (38.2) and 11th in points per game (76.5).

Sophomore forward Kaleb Glenn is Florida Atlantic's biggest offensive threat. He led the Owls with 20 points in the previous loss to North Texas.

Buoyed by the small but boisterous home crowd, Florida Atlantic will dictate the tempo and speed up North Texas.

The Owls will cover the spread and grab a key conference victory in the rematch.
