Spread

I don't have a pick on the spread in this game.

Moneyline

Like the spread, I'm not taking a side on this game and will instead be betting the total.

Over/Under

My best bet for this game is on the over. I think both offenses will find a way to fill up the bucket enough to go over the total.

My Pick: Over 137.5 (Play to 138.5)

Ole Miss vs. South Carolina College Basketball Betting Preview

Ole Miss Basketball

Our angle for this matchup is heavily dependent on the tempo established, and Ole Miss is best served to speed things up.

The Rebels are an average team tempo-wise, ranking 157th in adjusted tempo, but they've been very efficient offensively. In fact, they rank 44th in adjusted offensive efficiency.

That level of efficiency should continue against South Carolina, as Ole Miss holds the advantage in perimeter shooting and shots in the paint. The Rebels' talented backcourt of Sean Pedulla, Matthew Murrell and Jaylen Murray can operate in each of those areas.

One thing that will keep the tempo high for the Rebels in this matchup is their ability to turn defense into points. They rank 20th in defensive turnover rate and are up against a Gamecocks team that's struggled mightily with turnovers and sits 264th in offensive turnover rate.

We should see the Rebels push the ball off turnovers and create high-percentage looks while South Carolina struggles to get back.

All of this should lead to another solid performance offensively from an Ole Miss team that's put up fewer than 70 points in just two of its 11 SEC games.

South Carolina Basketball

It's safe to say that the Gamecocks are overmatched in the SEC, as they enter this matchup 0-10 in conference play.

While they're home underdogs in this matchup, they have an avenue to be competitive on the scoreboard.

That path involves feeding Collin Murray-Boyles, who's been dynamite in the paint this season. Murray-Boyles comes in averaging 15.4 points per game, having converted 70% of his shots around the rim.

The Rebels tend to play a smaller lineup, with their only two players who have above-average block rates playing limited roles.

This means that South Carolina should feed Murray-Boyles until it can't.

When the Rebels double him on the low block, the Gamecocks can make them pay from beyond the arc. South Carolina isn't the best 3-point shooting team, but it has several players who won't pass up the opportunities from beyond the arc.

This has been the case all season long against Ole Miss, which ranks 319th in the 3-point rate allowed.

If the Gamecocks can capitalize on the defense collapsing around the paint, they'll be in this matchup.

Ole Miss vs. South Carolina Betting Analysis

On paper, this game points to being more of a defensive battle.

However, a closer look shows that each side has plenty of opportunities to fill it up offensively.

Look for the Rebels to lead the way here, but if the Gamecocks can get some momentum going from beyond the arc, that'll carry them with the home crowd behind them.

This all points to the game going over the total.
