What an incredible day of college basketball. So many games.

If you want to have a full day of fun, go ahead.

But I'm only wildly in love with one game and one team — and that's the Sam Houston State Bearkats.

They simply know how to win, winning 12 of their last 13. But I'm not in them here for the moneyline. I love them against the spread (-6.5) vs. California Baptist.

One thing I've learned at Action Network when looking up matchups — and previous ones — is not to just look at the score. If you look at when Sam Houston played California Baptist during the regular season, -6 doesn't seem like that much of a value.

The Lancers lost to the Bearkats by 11 (56-45) on Feb. 23. But if you watched the game, it was an absolute butt-kicking. With six minutes left in the contest, when starters started getting pulled, Sam Houston was up 56-35. The Lancers concluded the game with a 10-0 run in garbage time to make the deficit look respectable.

This result came just after Cal Baptist had their best game of the season, shooting lights out and beating Seattle by 21.

At a 64% cover rate (16-9), Sam Houston is in the top-25 best teams covering against the spread this year, and Thursday will be no different.
