Utah State vs San Diego State Betting Trends

San Diego State vs Utah State College Basketball Betting Preview

On Saturday night, the San Diego State Aztecs and the Utah State Aggies will clash in Logan, Utah.

San Diego State rolls into this contest with a record of 18-6. Few teams in college basketball have been more consistent than the Aztecs over the past few seasons.

Since taking over the San Diego State program, head coach Brian Dutcher has changed the culture. Dutcher and the Aztecs have reached the Big Dance in four straight seasons.

San Diego State has a strong resume, but a win tonight would improve its chances of dancing for the fifth straight season.

The Aztecs have gone 11-4 in the Mountian West, the third-best record in league play. It helps that San Diego State has won three straight games and four of its last five.

Miles Byrd leads the team with 12.9 points per game, while senior Nick Boyd has averaged 12.8 points and a team-best 3.8 assists. Euless, Texas, native Magoon Gwath has also added 8.8 points and 5.5 rebounds.

On the other side, Utah State enters the game with a record of 23-4. Despite the strong record, it comes into this game unranked.

The Aggies have posted a conference record of 13-3, trailing New Mexico by one game for the lead in the Mountain West.

Utah State has gone dancing in back-to-back seasons.

First-year head coach Jerrod Calhoun will have the Aggies dancing for the third straight season.

Calhoun's team is coming off an impressive 105-57 win at home over San Jose State on Wednesday night.

Senior Ian Martinez leads the Aggies with 17.3 points per game, while Mason Falslev has enjoyed a strong season with 15.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Dexter Akanno has also added 8.5 points and 3.4 rebounds.

San Diego State vs Utah State Betting Analysis

We'll trust the home team tonight.

The line opened at Utah State -4.5 and has continued to move in the direction of the home team. The Aggies have played outstanding ball in Logan with a record of 13-2 at home this season.

On the other side, San Diego State ranks 267th in points per game. The Aztecs' offensive struggles will make it difficult to keep pace with the high-flying Aggies offense tonight.
