It's a big one in the Big East on Saturday when Seton Hall takes the short drive up to Milwaukee from Chicago to visit Marquette.
The Pirates are coming off a surprise loss to DePaul, a game in which the Blue Demons went for 96 points.
Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles enter this one on a three-game winning streak, which brings them back to .500 in conference play.
Surprisingly enough, Seton Hall has won the last six matchups in this series, many of which have come down to the wire.
Will the Pirates make it seven in a row and secure an important bounce-back victory? Or will Marquette hold serve at home and earn its fourth win in a row? Let's find out.
Kevin Willard has built Seton Hall into a very consistent program over the last 4-5 years. This season is no different, as the Pirates enter this one 11-4 with some impressive wins already on their resume.
The biggest victories thus far in 2021-22 have come against Michigan, Texas, and Connecticut, three games in which the Hall fell behind at various points and battled back to earn the win.
Until Thursday night, there wasn't a bad loss to mention. The Pirates were not ready to go out of the gates against DePaul and ultimately fell in the first contest of the two-game Midwest road trip.
That result makes Saturday's contest against Marquette all that more important. The last thing Willard and company want to do is head back to South Orange 0-2 on the trip with a feisty Providence team coming to town.
Jared Rhoden and Bryce Aiken log the most minutes for this team and are the two players counted on the most to deliver on the offensive end.
Marquette has been susceptible to giving up some triples, so Aiken should look to hunt his shot early on in what should be a hostile Fiserv Forum.
Shaka Smart has done a really nice job thus far in Year 1 as the head man in Milwaukee.
Marquette got off to a hot start in November, earning victories over Illinois, Ole Miss, and West Virginia within a span of five days.
Big East play did not start as smoothly, as the Golden Eagles dropped their first three, two of which were at home. Since then, though, Marquette has answered the call with three victories in a row.
Saturday presents a nice opportunity for Marquette to secure a quality win and get over .500 for the first time in the Big East.
To do that, the Golden Eagles will need to continue to take on the personality of their head coach on the defensive end. In prior seasons, an inability to get that big stop often plagued Marquette at key times under Steve Wojciechowski.
Smart has always been known for his defensive prowess, and the Golden Eagles are starting to improve on that end. Marquette held Providence to 56 points last week in a blowout victory and stifled Georgetown's offense the next time out on the road.
Seton Hall is a physical team with a lot of weapons, so it will be interesting to see whether or not Marquette's defense can continue to be dependable against a high-quality opponent.
Seton Hall vs. Marquette Betting Pick
I like the home Golden Eagles to rise up and win this basketball game.
Shaka Smart has infused a lot of momentum into the Marquette program right now, and I expect a rowdy crowd despite the early tip time.
Marquette is going to need to rebound by committee to keep a big and physical Pirate team off the offensive boards.
I think Darryl Morsell is the right type of defender to keep Rhoden at bay, and Smart will know the importance of chasing Aiken off the 3-point line.
On the other end, Justin Lewis and Tyler Kolek have the ability to score the ball and create for others within the offense.
Expect this one to be tight, but give me Golden Eagles to get it done at home.
