Stanford vs Clemson College Basketball Betting Preview

In a battle between two slow-paced teams (Stanford 229th in adjusted tempo while Clemson is 298th), I'm not expecting many points.

It also helps that Clemson has an elite defense (27th in KenPom's adjusted defensive efficiency metric) and may be able to challenge Stanford's top offensive weapon, Maxime Raynaud.

Raynaud is averaging 21.4 points and 11.8 rebounds, solidifying his status as one of the most underrated players in the nation. While the Tigers could have issues defending Raynaud on the perimeter due to their lack of athletic bigs with foot speed, Ian Schieffelin could cause physicality problems down low, even with Raynaud's size advantage.

Also, we're getting a bit of value at this number, as Bart Torvik projects the total to be 140.

Even if Raynaud goes off, there may not be enough possessions to reach this number.

Finally, this is a cross-country spot for the Cardinal. It's an early game (4 p.m. ET), so it may create a sleepy first half, contributing to our value on the over/under.
